Lawn Care FAQs
What is a healthy grass lawn?
Utilizing our scientific understanding of how compounds are formulated by manufacturers, work in the plant, and breakdown in the environment we have selected products. Our product selection began with a review of over 5,000 products available to us from manufacturers and distributors. Our process involved eliminating over 4,000 toxic products and then carefully reviewing the remaining 1,000 products to select products that still work. This provides us with an impressive portfolio of products that still control allergen inducing weeds, damaging insects and promote healthy grass growth with improved safety. Our approach is to understand the balance you hold between organic natural and pests. We work with each client to understand where they fall on the spectrum so that we can provide each customer with what they want. During this process we share the expected outcomes to make sure you are satisfied prior to any applications going down.
How do you evaluate my lawn?
When getting our service one of our owners will come out to visit with you and evaluate your lawn. They will look at the condition (stressed areas) and layout (sunny areas, shady areas, wet areas, etc) of your lawn. Using their real world knowledge and masters degree in turf management they will formulate the best plan using the Healthy Grass Safer process for your lawn.
Do you use 100% organic products?
We can if it is right for you. 100% organic products cannot provide you with a healthy, safer, green, and weed lawn without significant labor inputs. We use our Healthy Grass Safer process to reduce inputs and maximize lawn health and weed control, providing you with the healthiest lawn for you and your family. But if you are adamant on only organic products, we can provide you that option as we have for many of our clients. Reach out to us today to receive a full consultation on the best option for your needs.
Why should I aerate my lawn?

When should I water my lawn?
The latest research suggests watering your lawn in the early morning hours, 5-8am is the best time. Watering later in the day leads to evaporation of some of the applied water, thus waste. Watering during the late night or early morning promotes disease which hurts plant health. While this is a general rule each situation is different. Contact us today to discuss your specific situation.
How often should I mow my lawn?
The best sports fields and golf courses in the world mow their grass every day or two. They do this because mowing is a stress on the plant. By only removing a little bit of leaf tissue each time, they are able to minimize plant stress. We do not see that as practical, nor necessary for most homeowners. Once or twice a week mowing during most of the year is adequate. With that said, there are complicating factors such as how fast is the grass growing, what is your mowing height, how sharp are your mower blades, etc. The products we apply are designed to limit growth flushes and our experts are here to help you identify the proper mowing procedures for your lawn.
